Owner and Business Director – NABCEP PV Installation Professional
A NABCEP certified solar PV installation professional and a RI certified renewable energy professional, Pete has been active in the solar industry for close to ten productive years. He has installed, maintained, managed, and designed projects ranging from 4kW rooftop arrays to 1+MW ground mounted installations. In addition to playing a key role in the buildup of two successful solar PV companies in the US, Peter developed eight community savings and loan banks that continue to offer access to credit to poor rural communities while serving as a Peace Corp Volunteer in Nicaragua.
In addtion to his role as system design lead Pete functions as Business Manager, overseeing and guiding daily operations, collaborating with the sales and project management teams, and is always available to answer a technical question or concern from a customer. Born in Andover MA, Pete has worked on solar projects from MA to NJ and for the past six years has been happy to call RI home.

Walt founded Sunwatt Solar LLC in 2014 to focus on residential and small commercial solar projects. His other solar company, Megawatt Energy Solutions, LLC, focuses on larger commercial projects. For more information about Megawatt, please click here.
He holds a BSEE from Virginia Tech, a MSEE from Purdue, and has worked in networking and communications applications for Infinet, CrossComm, US Robotics (3 Com), and was one of the founders of Broadband Access Systems, Inc. Since 2002, he has also worked in construction and real estate development.
Walt combines his extensive knowledge and experience in electronics with a personal commitment to advancing the use of renewable energy in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He drives an all-electric car and he has owned homes powered by solar PV, solar thermal, and geothermal systems. He would love to see every well-sited roof become productive and useful by going solar. It only makes sense!
Owner and Director of Operations – Master Electrican in both MA and RI
A lifelong resident of MA, Steve began his career as an electrician in 1983 and managed his own electrical contracting company for over 25 years. With the growth of the renewable energy industry in SE New England, he began to focus on solar PV and joined Walt at Megawatt Energy Solutions, LLC to coordinate a limited number residential installations in February 2014. Sunwatt Solar was formed soon after, and Steve transitioning to Manager of Installations.
Steve manages all the field operations for SunWatt, pulling permits, supervising crews and installations, and performing inspections. He holds a Master Electricians License in both RI and MA.
A RI native and Army veteran, Daryll has worked all over SE New England, counting 6 years in the MA renewable energy market, 3 years as a home energy advisor and 3 years as a solar consultant. prior to joining the Sunwatt team.
His professional certifications include the Renewable/Green Energy: BPI Building Analyst Professional & Envelope Shell Specialist, LEED Green Associate, and Certified Solar Thermal Installer.
He not only provides customers with the best solar options available, Daryll takes a “whole house approach” and puts his experience as energy auditor to work. He often identifies areas in need of energy-efficiency upgrades helping customers save even more on their energy bill, in addition to their savings from solar.
Well versed in all the local incentive programs and financial options Daryll is committed to providing excellent customer service and gives attention to each detail involving bringing a project through from first site visit to utility interconnection and beyond!
Originally from Pawtucket he has lived in Texas, New Jersey, and Fort Bragg, NC (while serving in the US Army). He now resides in the Common Fence Point neighborhood of Portsmouth, RI with his girlfriend Rachel, their daughter Ava, and their dog Zeus.
They are “true Rhode Islander’s” who enjoy fishing, sailing, diving, clamming, cooking, craft beers, hiking, and traveling.
An avid fisherman, Daryll was 1st Place winner in the annual Westport MA Back Eddy Striper Derby, and continues to quahog, fish and fortunately for us, cook and share the bounty.
He recently wowed the crowds and the judges with his amazing homemade Stuffies, snagging a 2nd place win at the during the Bristol Harbor Festival.
Dana got started in solar working as a marketing consultant for a Massachusetts based start-up focused on developing innovative solar solutions for New England. His background is in marketing and business development where he has worked on branding and growth strategies for several small businesses. He is a native New Englander who holds a BS in marketing and an MBA in finance from the University of Massachusetts.
Dana is leading the effort at SunWatt to educate consumers about the feasibility and financial benefits of solar in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He is working on establishing local partnerships, creating a strong digital presence and building brand awareness about the quality of work and high level customer service SunWatt delivers to its clients.
Gail has been actively involved in solar PV in Rhode Island and Massachusetts since 2013. She has worked on large megawatt projects in addition to residential installations. As Project Administrator for Sunwatt she has been assisting customers navigate the sometimes complex world of state and federal incentive programs and utility interconnection policies. She has interfaced extensively with our local renewable energy agencies and is familiar with utility requirements, incentive applications and all accompanying paperwork needed to bring solar PV installs to completion and interconnection. Gail is a member of the newly formed Rhode Island chapter of NEWIEE
Gail loves art, interior design, and her amazing brood of grown children. Still missing her Boston Terrier, there may yet be another dog in her future.
Joseph is a committed environmentalist and sees his goal of solving the planet’s energy and pollution challenges being realized by starting first with his community and . As Outreach Coordinator, Joseph uses experience raising public awareness for environmental issues to educate people about the benefits of solar electricity. He graduated in 2013 from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental & Natural Resource Economics, has worked as a residential solar P.V. installer, and continues to conduct outreach for environmental causes. He received his NABCEP certification in PV sales in October 2016.
